After driving down from Barossa to Adelaide, Sam Temme from Wirra Wirra made one of my dreams coming true. We met a real Aussie wine legend: Stephen George, founder and winemaker of Ashton Hills. What an unbelievable humble, inspiring and lovely guy with a great sense of humor. The wines we tasted reflected his fascinating personality very well – subtle and elegant, yet focused with tension and an incredible inner power. The Ashton Hills Pinots have been always some of my favorite wines from the Adelaide Hills but I understand them even better now.
