What could be better than enjoying the excellent wine of our lovely neighbours in great company? Thursday was such an occasion to enjoy the Riesling “Alte Reben” 2019 from our neighbours Aaron and Julia Schwegler.
The grapes are sourced from a plot in neighbouring Beutelsbach here in Württemberg. The wine is matured in 500 litre Tonnaux, which lets the Riesling unfold its substance and also adds structure.
I have noted: Citrus and lots of yellow fruit on the nose, pear, Jonagold apple and meadow flowers, some hay and cress also on the palate. Long spicy-mineral finish. Still clearly gaining in intensity in the glass.
