Lauer Feils 2017

  • Post category:tastings

Superb Saar Riesling this Tuesday. The Feilser Fass 13 (barrel 13) made by winemaker Florian Lauer in 2017 is the perfect combination of freshness and ripeness.

The vines are planted on a steep slate and gravel site. The slope stores the day’s heat and releases it to the vines during the night.

The wines are fermented spontaneously and spend six months on the lees. The fresh, typical Saar acidity forms the backbone.

The aromas range from citrus, grapefruit, Braeburn apple with some mint, mustard seeds and a delicate saltiness in the finish. Definitely, a wine you should try.
