We had another exciting Riesling in the glass that danced on the tongue during the past few days: the Graacher Domprobst 2019 from Ernie Loosen.
The Domprobst is one of the prime vineyards in the Mosel community of Graach. It is a sheltered south-west facing site with deep, weathered slate soils.
I am particularly attracted by the balance of freshness, fruit purity and subtle spiciness of the Domprobst wines.
The 2019 version of Ernie Loosen´s Domprobst is still far too young to drink. Still, the characteristic crystal-clear acidity of the 2019 vintage, together with the juiciness of its fruit, is already highly animating: lemon, peach, yellow apple, melon and an elegant herbal spiciness. Very long and intense with a fine mineral finish.
