Crus et Domaines de France invited into the Eden Hotel Munich to taste around 170 Primeur Bordeaux from the 2019 vintage. In a nutshell – many wines impressed me by their intense fruit, marked acidity and lots of fine-grained tannins.
Valandraud, la Mondotte, Pavie-Macquin are some of my favourites from the right bank. Left side chateaux Pichon-Baron, Leoville Barton and Beychevelle but also Smith Haut-Lafitte and Domaine de Chevalier produced outstanding wines.
The dry whites combine attractive ripeness and lingering freshness. From the wines I tasted, I rated Smith Haut-Lafitte, Chateau de Fieuzal and Domaine de Chevalier highest.
Sauternes wines such as Suiduraut and Doisy-Daene also perform very well – even not as strong as the dry wines
